PATON Conducted Training for Sales Teams: Investing in Those Who Help Customers Choose Welding Equipment Every Day
Last week, PATON held two online training sessions for sales teams from partner stores across Ukraine. This is part of our systematic effort to ensure that every customer looking for welding equipment receives professional advice and is guided towards the right solution for their specific application.
Welding equipment is a complex product category. Different product series, welding modes, power ratings and dozens of models are designed for a wide range of applications, from occasional repairs at home to industrial production. Even experienced sales professionals can find it difficult to navigate all these options without proper training. That is why we provide our partners and their teams with more than just products for their shelves. We give them the knowledge they need to sell confidently, professionally and honestly.
Two Training Formats for Different Levels of Experience
To make the training as useful as possible, we divided it into two separate sessions.
For less experienced sales staff, we provided a comprehensive introduction to the fundamentals: welding processes explained in simple terms, a detailed overview of the PATON product range, the logic behind selecting the right welding machine for a specific customer application, and guidance on handling common questions and objections. A separate section focused on how just a few well-chosen questions can help identify the customer’s actual requirements and guide them towards the right solution.
For experienced sales professionals, the focus was on new products and advanced product expertise: laser welding equipment, new MIG/MAG welding machines with synergic control, equipment for cleaning and polishing stainless steel, and the updated range of welding helmets. A significant part of the session was dedicated to an open Q&A, where sales teams discussed challenging situations from their own day-to-day experience.
At the end of the sessions, participants took part in a quiz, with special prizes awarded to the top performers.
The Most Valuable Part Is the Dialogue
The main value we took away from these sessions was not our presentation, but the open dialogue. Sales professionals asked questions they encounter every day, and we shared practical ways to address them. In return, they told us what they hear most often from customers: what concerns arise when choosing equipment, what matters most to buyers and what causes hesitation before a purchase.
This feedback is extremely valuable. Sales teams communicate with customers every day, giving them a direct view of what is happening in the market. We have already taken a number of their requests into development and are preparing new materials and solutions they asked for to make selling PATON products even easier.
Why This Matters
Behind the PATON brand are more than 60 years of engineering expertise, our own manufacturing facilities in Kyiv and an in-house R&D team. But even the best welding equipment delivers its full value only when customers receive the right guidance and choose the right solution for their needs.
By investing in sales training, we are working towards one key objective: ensuring that trust in a Ukrainian manufacturer begins at the point of sale with knowledgeable, professional and honest advice. Everyone benefits: the customer receives exactly the equipment they need, the partner store gains a customer who is more likely to return, and the market benefits from a higher standard of service.
More Than Supplying Welding Equipment
This series of training sessions is not a one-off initiative, but part of our systematic work with the dealer network. In addition to supplying equipment manufactured by PATON, we are developing training materials and sales support tools for our partners, and we plan to continue expanding this area.
This is what partnership looks like when the manufacturer is just as invested in the success of every partner store as it is in its own.
PATON: welding backed by engineering expertise. And by people who know the equipment inside out.
