MIG/MAG Wire Feeder Paton 5-2

The digital welding wire feeder PATON 5-2 is designed to work with an external welding power source in semi-automatic MIG/MAG welding mode, where the source generates the welding current, and the feeder ensures stable delivery of wire to the welding area.

The feeder has its own power source for the motor, a valve for shielding gas supply, and a control system. A characteristic feature of PATON™ feeders is a very powerful, high-quality sealed metal wire feeding mechanism, as well as an integrated KZ-2 “EURO” type connector that has become a worldwide standard, allowing users to change the torch according to their preference in the future. The device has a built-in shielding gas supply valve.

During operation, the feeder’s internal control system reads signals coming from the KZ-2 socket sent by the button on the torch. At the appropriate moment, it activates the shielding gas supply valve, after a predetermined delay, sends a signal to turn on the power source, then turns on and stabilizes the rotation speed of the wire feeder motor. After the process is completed, all elements are turned off in reverse order with the required delays. By default, all parameters are set to optimal values.

The device is optimized for use with PATON™ production sources. Its adaptation is very simple and takes little time, as the device design already provides matched connection points for sockets and source installation.

In this PATON™ production model, a protective module against too low and too high voltage has been built in.
