The PATON ProMIG-500 400V welding machine is designed for semi-automatic welding using the MIG/MAG process with shielding gases and protective mixtures, manual arc welding using the MMA method, and arc welding in an argon shield using the TIG method with DC current.

The design of this model (15 / 18‑kilogram spool – 4‑roller feeder) provides some of the best protection against external factors available on the market. Its rated current of 500A at a 70% duty cycle allows for intensive welding of materials without the risk of overheating the device. The power source can be separated from the wire feeding mechanism, ensuring both user convenience and safety. A characteristic feature of the PATON™ Professional series semi-automatic machines is the high-quality, sealed, metallic wire feeder, along with the KZ-2 “EURO” connector, which has become the global standard, allowing users to change the handle according to their preference in the future.

In a fully electronic system, the control unit manages all of the source’s resources at full capacity, regardless of the welding method applied. The “Professional” series device is intended for industrial use by the most demanding users.

GAS-FREE FUNCTION – WELDING WITH SELF-SHIELDED FLUX-CORED WIRE

All PATON MIG/MAG welders are adapted for welding with self-shielded flux-cored wire without shielding gas. Unlike traditional MIG/MAG welding, this process does not require an external gas cylinder, as the special wire creates its own protective atmosphere around the welding arc.

Self-shielded flux-cored wire suitable for PATON welders can be purchased separately.

INDUCTANCE ADJUSTMENT

PATON MIG/MAG machines from both the Standard and PRO series offer the lutospawanie function through a three-stage inductance adjustment. Controlling the inductance optimizes the arc characteristics according to the thickness of the material being welded. This function is essential for adjusting the current flow as the arc voltage changes. For thinner materials, a higher inductance is recommended (resulting in a softer arc with less fusion), whereas thicker elements require lower inductance (resulting in a harder arc with greater fusion).

PULSE FUNCTION

  • TIG Pulse Function: Provides full control over the heat input into the material, making it excellent for welding stainless steel and acid-resistant steel.
  • MMA Pulse Function: Facilitates easier transfer of material from the electrode to the weld pool, resulting in a higher quality weld joint.
  • MIG/MAG Pulse Function: Weld cleanly and precisely, without spatter. The ideal solution for stainless steel, aluminium, and CuSi3 brazing.

The machine features a synergic control function in pulse mode that automatically selects the optimal welding parameters, ensuring a stable arc and high weld quality.

MAIN ADVANTAGES OF PATON™ DEVICES

  • European Production
  • Electronic Thermal Protection System: Protects all heat-generating elements from overheating.
  • Reliability: Utilizes IGBT technology.
  • Versatility: Capable of operating on long extension cords as well as with a generator.
  • Pulsating Current Welding
  • Improved Arc Stability
  • Work Mode Switching: Options for 2T, 4T modes and gas cleaning of the feeder function.
  • Network Voltage Stabilization: In addition to protection against voltage surges and drops, the devices feature a stabilization system that maintains proper operation even with long-term fluctuations in three-phase power supply, accommodating voltages from 320V to 440V.
  • Energy Efficiency: Requires half the electrical power compared to traditional sources.
  • Optimal Fusion and Bead Shape: Maintains quality regardless of welding position.

WARRANTY AND BUILD QUALITY

The highest quality of workmanship is backed by a 2-year DOOR-to-DOOR manufacturer warranty covering both the welder and the wire feeder, while the PATON cooler carries a 1-year warranty. PRO series models are characterized by a compact design that incorporates several innovative technological solutions to enhance device reliability. The inverter’s durability has been improved, especially in environments with high dust and humidity.
