The PATON® MultiPRO-350 400V digital multifunctional inverter semi-automatic semi-automatic welding machine is designed for semi-automatic MIG/MAG welding, manual MMA arc welding and TIG HF arc welding in shielded gas and protective mixtures with direct current. The MultiPro series has a non-contact arc ignition module (oscillator), with an integrated gas supply valve.

The advantage of using a fully electronic control system in this device is that it excludes the disadvantages that are characteristic of multifunctional devices based on analogue control systems, which by definition are always directed towards one specific method, with all other methods as additional control disadvantages. In an all-electronic system, the control system has absolutely all the resources of the source, within the limits of its full capacity and regardless of which method is used. The “Multi-Professional” series is designed for industrial use, the source can be separated from the welding wire feeding mechanism for convenience of use as well as safety.

Thanks to the possibility of additional adjustment, the most optimal welder settings can be selected according to the situation. The source provides a nominal current load of 350А, which is sufficient for working with electrodes from Ф1.6 mm up to easily fusible Ф6 mm and semi-automatic welding with solid wire from Ф0.6 mm to Ф1.4 mm. The source defaults to the optimum values and is simple enough if one does not go into the details of the settings, which already require more experience from the welder. For hazardous work conditions, an MMA idle voltage reduction block is built in, with the option to switch it on and off.

A distinctive feature of the PATON® semi-automatic machines of the ‘Multi-Professional’ series is the high-quality, sealed, metallic wire feeder, as well as the existing ‘EURO’ type KZ-2 connector, which has become a standard in the world, allowing the user to change the handle at will in the future. The unit has a protection module against abnormal supply voltage levels (overvoltage or voltage drops) as well as surges. Due to the increased frequency of the voltage supplied to the transformer, the transformer can be several times smaller. Therefore, the weight and overall dimensions of the welder are several times smaller than those of normal devices with identical output parameters.

GASLESS WELDING FUNCTION – WELDING WITH SELF-CONSUMING WIRE
All PATON migomats are adapted for welding with self-consuming wire. Such welding, unlike the traditional MIG/MAG welding process, is carried out without shielding gas – however, this requires a special welding wire. Such wire produces its own shielding, which helps to protect the welding arc. Self-shielded wire suitable for PATON welders can be purchased here – the 5 kg wire spools will fit all wire feeders.

MULTIPRO SERIES – BUILT-IN IONISER

The MultiPro series welders have a built-in HF IONISATOR, which enables contactless arc ignition in the TIG welding method. This extension is a function of the TIG handle control button. The control cable for the handle button connects directly to this module. When the control button on the torch is pressed, the control signal is sent to the welding machine controller, which develops the previous gas t1 function for cleaning the weld area before welding, and with a delay gives the signal to switch on the machine – thus enabling TIG welding with contactless arc ignition.

SOLDERING – INDUCTANCE CONTROL

Paton in the Standard and PRO series have the possibility of brazing, thanks to the function of changing the inductance in three stages. The inductance control allows the arc characteristics to be optimised depending on the thickness of the component to be welded.
