The digital multifunctional inverter semi-automatic welding machine PATON® MultiPRO-350 400V is designed for semi-automatic welding using the MIG/MAG method, manual arc welding using the MMA method, and TIG HF arc welding in shielding gases and gas mixtures with direct current. Devices of the MultiPro series are equipped with a non-contact arc ignition module (oscillator) with a built-in gas supply valve.

The advantage of using a fully electronic control system in this device eliminates the drawbacks typical of multifunctional machines based on analog control systems, which by design are always optimized for one specific method, while all other methods have control limitations. In a fully electronic system, the control unit has access to all the source resources within its full power range, regardless of the selected welding method.

The “Multi-Professional” series devices are intended for industrial use, and the power source can be separated from the wire feeder for improved usability and safety.

Thanks to additional adjustment options, the most optimal welding settings can be selected depending on the situation. The power source provides a nominal current of 350A, which is sufficient for working with electrodes from Ø1.6 mm up to Ø6 mm, as well as for semi-automatic welding with solid wire diameters from Ø0.6 mm to Ø1.4 mm.

The source is pre-configured with optimal default settings and is simple enough to use without diving into advanced parameters, which require more experience from the welder.

For hazardous working conditions, a built-in MMA idle voltage reduction unit (VRD) is included, with the option to enable or disable it.

A characteristic feature of PATON® “Multi-Professional” series semi-automatic machines is the high-quality sealed metal wire feeder, as well as the standard KZ-2 “EURO” connector, allowing easy torch replacement.

The device includes a protection module against incorrect supply voltage levels (overvoltage or voltage drops) as well as surge protection. Due to the increased frequency of voltage supplied to the transformer, the transformer can be significantly smaller. As a result, the weight and dimensions of the welding machine are reduced compared to conventional devices with identical output parameters.

GASLESS WELDING FUNCTION – FLUX-CORED WIRE WELDING

All PATON MIG/MAG welders are adapted for welding with flux-cored wire. This process, unlike traditional MIG/MAG welding, is carried out without shielding gas, but requires special wire that creates its own protective atmosphere for the arc.

Flux-cored wire suitable for PATON welders can be purchased separately – 5 kg spools are compatible with all wire feeders.

MULTIPRO SERIES – BUILT-IN IONIZER

MultiPro series welders feature a built-in HF IONIZER, enabling non-contact arc ignition in TIG welding mode.

This function operates via the TIG torch control button. When pressed, a control signal is sent to the welding machine, which activates the pre-gas flow (t1) to clean the weld area, and then—with a delay—initiates the arc, allowing clean TIG ignition without contact.

BRAZING – INDUCTANCE CONTROL

PATON MIG welders from the Standard and PRO series offer brazing capability thanks to a three-stage inductance adjustment.

Inductance control allows optimization of arc characteristics depending on material thickness:

• Higher inductance → soft arc, less penetration (thin materials)
• Lower inductance → hard arc, deeper penetration (thick materials)
